Memorial Hospital of Carbon County (MHCC) operates two clinics that employ family practice doctors, general surgeons, an orthopedic surgeon, a physician assistant, nurses and office staff.
Energy Basin Clinic
The Energy Basin Clinic is a collaborative health care facility established to meet the health care needs of eastern Carbon County. It is a general acute care facility that provides assessment and treatment of short-term illnesses or injuries and chronic illnesses. It also provides laboratory services, electrocardiograms, vaccinations, physicals and home visits.
The clinic is staffed five days a week by a physician assistant and is visited by physicians on a rotating weekly schedule.
The Energy Basin Clinic was established to better serve the medical needs of Carbon County’s smaller communities including Hanna, Medicine Bow and Elk Mountain.

The MHCC Group Practice is a conglomerate of several physician practices and specialties. The MHCC Group Practice includes:
- Family practice doctors James Trent, MD. and Charles Young, MD.
- General surgeons Gary E. Chizever, MD, and Palur V. Sridharan, MD.
- Orthopedic surgeon Kenneth W. Schulze, MD.
Patients at the MHCC Group Practice can receive outpatient and inpatient orthopedic and general surgery, office visits, and general practice visits and obstetrics appointments.

MHCC offers a clinic with medical specialists from other areas of our community and surrounding areas. The specialists hold outreach clinics in Rawlins on set days each month. Our services include office visits and some cardiac testing.
