Surgical services
The Memorial Hospital of Carbon County (MHCC) surgical department provides excellent patient care with an emphasis on safety.
MHCC employs an orthopedic surgeon, two general surgeons and three family medicine physicians who provide obstetric services. We also host surgical cases for physicians from other facilities.
The surgical department averages 70 to 80 surgeries a month, including (but not limited to):
- Arthroscopies of knees and shoulders.
- Cesarean sections.
- Colonoscopies.
- Fracture stabilization/fixation.
- Hernia repairs.
- Laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
- Laparoscopic appendectomy.
- Upper endoscopy with or without biopsy.
Our operating rooms are currently undergoing renovations, which are scheduled for completion in 2012. The upgrades include two operating rooms and an endoscopy suite fitted with state-of-the-art equipment.
