Memorial Hospital of Carbon County and Classic Air Medical are proud to announce their new emergent blood transfusion program. This program allows Classic Air Medical to pick up blood from Memorial Hospital of Carbon County and transport it to patients on the scene of a traumatic injury, giving patients early access to lifesaving blood.
Memorial Hospital of Carbon County and Classic Air Medical have developed a partnership to provide residents of Carbon County and other surrounding counties with leading edge critical care medicine in flight. Classic Air Medical is one of the first air medical services in Wyoming to provide this type of life saving service.
Classic Air Medical crews will have access to at least four units of blood at all times, as well as protocols that will allow blood to to be given in emergent situations. Classic Air Medical has been providing leading edge critical care medicine in flight to the residents of Carbon County since 2016.
