Following the previous press release issued today at 5:00 pm, additional water damage has since occurred, resulting in the closure of inpatient areas within Memorial Hospital of Carbon County.  The emergency department remains open at this time; the hospital has activated its emergency plan and administrators are working closely with local and state health officials to operationalize plans to ensure continued ER services in the event of additional water damage.

The facility, which suffered limited water damage over the weekend that resulted in the closure of several units, has continued to experience water leaks and damaged HVAC units.  Remediation experts are on-site and actively working to mitigate the damage.

Hospital officials will continue working diligently to determine the next steps to ensure the community’s continued access to care.  More information will be provided as this situation develops.
