Memorial Hospital of Carbon County would like to acknowledge the long-standing concerns surrounding billing practices and we are eager to begin the process of regaining the trust and confidence of the community on this topic. Several new processes are being implemented to ensure better business practices for both the hospital and our valued patients.
Our recent partnership with Revenue Enterprises and revisions within our internal team are creating a framework for accuracy and positive patient experience and we are excited to see the desired results with current accounts.
As an organization, we also wish to be transparent regarding the status of aging accounts. The conversion to a new EMR (electronic medical records) system two years ago created multiple challenges transferring patient data correctly. Today, the new EMR is operating correctly and allows for proper information sharing between the clinics and hospitals which was not possible previously. However, there are patient accounts that were impacted as part of the conversion, resulting in severely delayed billing and collection efforts.
Revenue Enterprises is working closely with MHCC to collect on these aging accounts. We understand the concern and frustration that comes with receiving such delayed notification for services rendered. It is however our responsibility to collect on these debts for the healthcare services we provided.
Patients receiving collection calls or letters are encouraged to respond quickly to prevent further collection efforts. Patients are also urged to call the MHCC Business Office and ask to speak to Felicia Kimble, Director of Revenue Cycle, to take advantage of available discounts. Felicia may be contacted at 307-324-8300.
Again, we acknowledge and respect the concerns of the community on this topic. We look forward to demonstrating process improvements going forward and regaining your trust.
