MHCC and Ivinson Announce Partnership for Women’s Health Services

Following the recent announcement of the closure of Labor and Delivery services at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County, an alternate care plan for women’s health has been developed.

Over the course of the past two weeks, MHCC Administration, Nursing Leadership, and Women’s Clinic staff have worked diligently to address the needs expressed by community members. In response, we are pleased to name Ivinson Memorial Hospital as our partner of choice to provide labor and delivery services for our patients. Both Ivinson’s inpatient Women and Children Center, as well as the outpatient services with Ivinson Medical Group’s women’s health team will be supporting the needs of MHCC patients in Carbon County and in Laramie.

“The decision to build a relationship with the number one rated obstetrical team in our area demonstrates our commitment to continue to serve the women of Carbon County as best possible,” stated MHCC CEO Ken Harman.

Scope of services will include prenatal visits, available both in person and via telehealth, with deliveries and gynecological surgeries occurring at Ivinson. Emergency deliveries will be managed by trained Emergency Room personnel at MHCC. A transition care team, consisting of staff from both entities, has been developed and will be working directly with patients to assist them through the entire process.

“Ivinson’s promise to be trusted partners in world-class healthcare extends far beyond the walls of our hospital,” Ivinson CEO Doug Faus said. “We look forward to collaborating with MHCC to ensure Carbon County patients feel cared for and supported throughout their prenatal visits, labor, delivery, postpartum and gynecological care in both locations.”

The MHCC Obstetrics Department will officially close June 15th, 2022. The Ivinson women’s health team will be on-site in Rawlins late May to begin seeing patients. For additional information, please contact the MHCC Women’s Clinic at 307-324-9098.
